US Visa processing fees to change from April 13

Effective April 13, the United States Department of State will adjust visa processing fees.

According to a statement by the Embassy, the fees for most nonimmigrant visa applications and Border Crossing Cards will increase, while all immigrant visa processing fees will decrease.

"The Department is required to recover, as far as possible, the cost of processing visas through the collection of application fees.  For a number of reasons, the current fees no longer cover the actual cost of processing nonimmigrant visas.  The nonimmigrant visa fee increase will support the addition and expansion of overseas facilities, as well as additional staffing required to meet increased visa demand.

Cocaine, heart disease, drowning killed Whitney Houston – Coroner

Whitney Houston
Whitney Houston died from an accidental drowning in a hotel bathtub, but the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use” were contributing factors in her death, the Los Angeles County Coroner said in an initial autopsy report released Thursday.
Houston, 48, was “found submerged in bathtub filled with water” and “no trauma or foul play is suspected,” the coroner said.
The toxicology tests found other drugs in her body, including marijuana, the anti-anxiety drug Xanax, the muscle relaxant Flexeril and the allergy medicine Benadryl, the report said. But these drugs “did not contribute to the death,” it said.
The one-page report released Thursday did not disclose the levels of each drug, but that information will be included in the final coroner report to be made public within two weeks, the coroner said.
Coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey told AP that cocaine metabolites were found in Houston’s system, and it was listed as a contributing factor in her death. He says the results indicated Houston was a chronic cocaine user.
Houston’s family, which had been informed of the findings before Thursday’s release, issued a statement through a family spokeswoman.
“We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure,” said Patricia Houston, the singer’s sister-in-law and former manager.
Houston died February 11 in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, the day before the music industry gathered for the annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.
Authorities had said that police and fire officials were called to Houston’s room at the Beverly Hilton after her unconscious body was found in the bathtub, just hours before she was to attend a pre-Grammy party at the hotel.
Houston won six Grammys and sold 170 million albums, singles and videos over her career.
In recent years, the singer’s accomplishments were overtaken by her struggles with drug addiction.

Two Nigerians Jailed For £1.7M Fraud In London

JOBCENTRE staff swindled £1.7million by hijacking identities and making thousands of false benefit claims, a court has heard.

The Nigerian-born gang are accused of ripping off nearly £900,000 in tax credits over five years by submitting claims using names, dates of births and addresses raided from the Department of Work and Pensions' confidential database.

MEN, Their Fingers and the Length of their Penis!!!

jarm MEN, Their Fingers and the Length of their Penis!!!
Men
Hold up your right hand. Are your index and ring fingers mismatched? Congratulations, you’re more likely than men with matching digits to have a long penis. LOL! Are you wondering what I’m talking about? Keep reading. The ratio of the length of a man’s index finger to that of his ring finger may seem like a strange thing to measure, but new research suggests that it’s linked with penis size. The lower the ratio, the longer the penis.
In the new study, researchers at Gachon University Gil Hospital in South Korea recruited 144 volunteers 20 years of age and older who were going to undergo urological surgery. While the men were under anesthesia, the researchers measured their finger lengths and both their flaccid and stretched penis lengths. Stretched penis length is statistically correlated to the size of the penis when fully erect.
The average flaccid penis length, the researchers found, was 3.0 inches (7.7 centimeters), with a range of 1.6 to 4.7 in. (4 to 12 cm). Stretched lengths ranged from nearly 3.0 to 6.7 in. (7.5 to 17 cm), with an average of 4.6 in. (11.7 cm). The average ratio between the two fingers was 0.97, with a range of 0.88 to 1.12, making the differences hard to make out with the unaided eye. But the lower the digit ratio, the study found, the longer the penis was likely to be.

Angry Birds teams up with Nasa for latest game, Space

Angry Birds Space
Finnish entertainment company Rovio has teamed up with Nasa to launch its latest Angry Birds title, Space.
The new game will be released on 22 March and will be available on iOS, Android, PC and Mac.
"This began with a Twitter exchange about birds and pigs in space, and has grown into a tremendous outreach and education opportunity," said Nasa spokesman David Weaver.
"Games are fun and entertaining but can be inspirational and informative."
In an online video promoting the game, a US astronaut on the International Space Station explains the laws of physics using Angry Bird characters as props.
At one point flight engineer Don Pettit is seen firing a red bird down a space station corridor using a slingshot.
'Educational'
Nasa has called the collaboration with Rovio and Angry Birds "an exciting way to get people engaged with Nasa's missions of exploration and discovery, and get students energized about future careers in science and technology".
Peter Vesterbacka, Rovio's chief marketing officer, said the company wanted to create something "unique" for the game launch.

"Nasa has been the perfect partner for our Angry Birds Space programme and we can't wait to work with them on creating more compelling educational experiences," he said.
Angry Birds Space features 60 initial levels and six new characters but has what Rovio says is a "unique twist in a variable gravity environment".
"From the weightlessness of space to the gravity wells of nearby planets, fans can have fun with physics as they try out new gameplay possibilities," Peter Vesterbacka added.
"The Angry Birds themselves have also transformed into superheroes, with new costumes and abilities."
More levels will be available as free regular updates and in-app purchases.
In November, Angry Birds became the first game to achieve 500 million downloads less than two years after it was released.

Yahoo sues Facebook over 10 disputed patents in the US

Facebook logoYahoo claims the social network has infringed 10 of its patents including systems and methods for advertising on the web. Facebook denies the allegation.
The move comes ahead of Facebook's planned flotation later this year.
Patent litigation has become common between the smartphone makers, but this marks a new front in the battles between the tech giants.
A statement from Yahoo suggested the web portal believed it has a strong case.
"Yahoo's patents relate to cutting edge innovations in online products, including in messaging, news feed generation, social commenting, advertising display, preventing click fraud and privacy controls," its suit said.
"Facebook's entire social network model, which allows users to create profiles and connect with, among other things, persons and businesses, is based on Yahoo's patented social networking technology.
The social network signalled that it believed that Yahoo had not tried hard to settle the matter without involving the courts. It described Yahoo's action as "puzzling".
"We're disappointed that Yahoo, a longtime business partner of Facebook and a company that has substantially benefited from its association with Facebook, has decided to resort to litigation," it added.
History repeating
The case has echoes of Yahoo's decision to sue Google ahead of its flotation in 2004. That dispute centred over patents that Yahoo had acquired the previous year as part of its takeover of pay-per-position specialist Overture.
Google ultimately settled the case by issuing 2.7 million shares to its rival.
"It's reasonable that Yahoo would want to try this tactic again as it worked in the past," BGC Partner's New York-based technology analyst Colin Gillis told the BBC.
"But there's an air of desperation about this - it's unlikely that they will get easy money from Facebook. This isn't going to derail the IPO."
Yahoo recently overhauled its board appointing Scott Thompson as its chief executive in January. The former Paypal executive replaced Carol Bartz who had been ousted in September.
Yahoo's co-founder, Jerry Yang, also resigned from the board in January. The firm's chairman and three other board members announced their decision to step down shortly afterwards.
The Wall Street Journal had reported that many Yahoo employees expected fresh job cuts following consecutive quarters of revenue declines.
Test case
Mr Thompson's decision to sue may secure fresh funds or other assets if the courts rule in his favour.
"This is particularly interesting as it is one of the first patent cases concerning social media," said Andrea Matwyshyn, assistant professor of legal studies at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
"The patentability of computer code is uncertain and recently several groups such as the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Computer and Communications Industry Association have asked the US Supreme Court to examine the state of the law and accept a case to clarify when computer code can be protected through patent.
"This may be a case that advances past the district court and at least reaches the appellate court level - one notch below the Supreme Court - if the two parties do not settle first."
The latest suit was filed in the US district court for the northern district of California.
