Mountain of Fire Church Completes N2.5 Billion Private University

Mountain of Fire Church has joined other Nigerian churches that have private universities, after completing their own university situated inside The Prayer City along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway called - Mountain Top University.

The university sits atop 100 acres, and has hostel blocks, laboratories, hospital, and administrative blocks. 

Chinyere Alegu, 22, claims holy spirit asked her to kill 5-yr-old niece

    This could pass for one of the wonders of the world. It is a strange but true life story of a 22-year lady, Chinyere Alegu, who dragged her cousin’s daughter, Chioma Edukwu, 5, to a nearby bush, inserted her fingers in her mouth and pulled out her tongue . The victim died as a result of the wicked act.

The incident took place at Ndi Duma Ekpaomaka village, in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
According to a source, the suspect allegedly committed the crime under the influence of some unseen forces.

He narrated how the suspect behaved strangely, each time the spirit came upon her. But despite that, Chinyere was said to have taken her Christian life seriously and even became a ‘prayer warrior.’
Crimewatch was also told that the suspect, who was described by many as a very quiet person, usually saw vision and received revelations ‘anytime she was in spirit’.

One day, she told her relatives how she dreamt and the spirit directed her to pull out an object from an elderly woman’s mouth. However, when she woke up from sleep, she traveled to her cousin’s village, Ishiekke Igbubuikwo and told him she wanted to train his daughter, Chioma. Monday Edukwu was said to have granted her request and asked Chioma to go with her.
Chinyere was said to have taken the little girl to her elder sister’s house at Ekpaomaka where they slept in the same room.

TWO PEOPLE LEFT DEAD AS BUILDING COLLAPSES IN ANAMBRA

Two bodies were pulled out of the debris of a building which collapsed in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Thursday. Five other people were brought out alive with varying degrees of injuries from the rubble of the two-storey building which was under construction at the time of its collapse. The victims were mainly workers, who were working on the decking of the second floor when the building collapsed, trapping no fewer than 12 of them.

The timely arrival of men and equipment of the Consolidated Construction Company Limited, who were later joined by officials of the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Red Cross Society, Boys Brigade and the men of the state Fire Service aided the rescue operation.

LIEUTENANT COLONEL AND SIX OTHER SECURITY MEN KILLED IN BAYELSA

Four policemen and three military personnel among them a Lieutenant Colonel were yesterday, killed by unidentified gunmen along the waterways of Nembe and Brass local government council areas ofBayelsa State.

While four policemen were reportedly killed at the Marine Police Checkpoint in the Nembe Creek at about 7am, the attack on the lieutenant colonel and the two Naval ratings occurred at the OkpoamaRiver junction at about 10am on their way to Ogbia waterside. Eyewitnesses said the police and military personnel were ambushed by the yet to be identified gunmen suspected to be pirates in separate attacks.

The gunmen were said to have approached the marine police checkpoint and the two speedboats conveying the military personnel in two speed boats and opened fire on them. Although the police authorities confirmed that four of their men were killed by unidentified gunmen around the Nembe creek, a source from the area told Vanguard that the death toll could be more as the policemen were caught off guard by the gunmen who shot them at close range.

The state Commissioner of Police, Chris Olakpe, who was thrown into mourning, could not speak with newsmen on the incident, but the Command Spokesman, Mr. Emokpae Eguavoen (ASP) confirmed the incident. He said four corpses from the attacked team of Marine Policemen have so far been recovered. On the killing of the military men, the State Chairman of the Maritime Workers Union,Comrade Lloyd Sese and a government source who pleaded anonymity confirmed the incident and said it occurred at about 10am yesterday.

The government source said, “only one military officer and two Naval ratings were attacked with other passengers in a boat at Okpoama junction of the Brass-Ogbia route of the river. We can not confirm if they were killed.”

In his reaction, the Media Coordinator of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Timothy Antigha said although the JTF is waiting for a full report on the attack, it remained “unconfirmed”.

“There are unconfirmed reports of an armed attack on military personnel by yet to be identified gunmen. The attack reportedly took place yesterday, while the personnel were enroute Ogbia from Brass. Details are still sketchy for now. New development will be communicated in due course,” Lt Col Antigha said.

Life as an only child

When I was growing up, life was fun. But at a point in my life, I discovered that it was not all that exciting. It was worse when my parents died, leaving only me behind. I felt empty. If I had siblings, I would argue and play with them. But when I lost my parents, and as an only child, I began to see the other side of life. That was when I discovered those who truly loved me. I miss my parents and those who would have been my siblings. My dad died in 2007. I’m trying to do something about my parents’ burial. I just lost my mother late last year. I want to perform the final burial rites for both of them soon. I’m their only child. Now I’m an orphan. I leave everything to God. That is why I’m celebrating their lives. People think I would have limitations since I was an only child. I want to prove them wrong. I also want to tell them that being a woman does not undermine my capabilities. I’m inviting top musicians to the burial. My colleagues in the movie industry will also be there, even those living abroad.

My new movie

I have a new movie entitled, Kofo Tinubu. I had to do something about the physically-challenged people. They have been totally left out of the society. Some parents don’t even want to be identified with their kids who are physically-challenged and so they lock them indoors. Every child is from God. If a child is an imbecile or he is deaf and dumb, it doesn’t mean that he will not make it in life. We all have our challenges. It mustn’t be physical. Some of us have worse challenges. So, we shouldn’t feel that physically-challenged people should be removed from the society. That is basically what the story line is all about. I played the role of the physically challenged. It was very tasking. Many actors appeared in the movie, including Olumide Bakare, Baba Latin and Elesho. The movie is a comedy, but it has a message. This is my fifth movie. I produce one movie in a year. I love doing stories that have messages.

At 70, Nigerians urge Adeboye to be more outspoken on national issues

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has been urged to use his vantage position to foster national unity and lead the crusade against corrupt leaders.  

This forms the thrust of comments of Nigerians from all walks of life on Adeboye’s life as he turns 70 this weekend.

While felicitating with him on the auspicious occasion, they said Adeboye should use his position in tackling national issues for the common good.

“He should look beyond the RCCG and foster the unity in the body of Christ, which is currently fragmented,”  the President, Eclectic Network, Rev. Moses Iloh, said.

10 die in Lagos road accident, others wounded

About 10 people died on Friday at the Otedola Estate on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway when five vehicles, including a trailer, ran into some oil pipes, which were lying carelessly on the road.

The oil pipelines, which were four in number, fell off another trailer on Thursday night at about 9 pm. The trailer was moving on the outbound Lagos lane towards Ogun State.

An eyewitness said, “These pipes you see on the road fell off a trailer yesterday (Thursday) night. I think the cord used to bind the pipelines came undone as the trailer sped past, but the driver was well aware when the oil pipes started dropping off.

In what seems to be another case of rape, a video of three girls being dehumanized and tortured by guys thought to be students of UNIVERSITY OF BENIN has been released on the internet. Sources say the girls were having lesbian sex when some guys stormed their location and subjected them to a session of humiliation.

The boys forced the girls touch, kiss and have oral sex while they taped it on their phones. The girls were also laid on the floor and flogged.
